A 46-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly killing his 34-year-old girlfriend in a unit in Tseung Kwan O.
Police said they originally questioned the man on Tuesday night for allegedly possessing dangerous weapons, but his behaviour made them suspicious.
When officers searched his apartment in Po Kim House in Po Lam Estate early on Wednesday, they found the body of a woman hidden in a compartment on the lower level of a bunk bed at about 5.30am.
Police said there were bruises on her body, and she's believed to have been dead for several few days.
Police say they're still investigating the motive for the alleged murder, and will investigate whether the suspect was under the influence of drugs.
A post-mortem is being carried out.
