A team of mainland experts on epidemics arrived in Hong Kong on Saturday for a four-day visit to study the SAR's measures to tackle the pandemic.

The visit was organised by the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council and the National Health Commission.

The group attended a briefing on Hong Kong's pandemic measures late on Saturday.

In a statement, the Chief Secretary, John Lee, said the mainland experts' visit was an important follow-up work to talks held in September 26 and earlier this month.

Lee said the government wanted to restore cross-border travel as quickly as possible, but gave no further details.

However, he said he hoped that the visit would give the panel a deeper understanding of the SAR's anti-epidemic work strategies, policies and measures.

Lee said the government would continue its goal of zero Covid.
