A team of medical experts from the mainland on Sunday continued their inspection of anti-epidemic work in Hong Kong, visiting the airport, North Lantau Hospital and the border control point of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge.
The delegation arrived on Saturday for a four-day visit.
The experts include Liu Wenda from the Department of Exchange and Cooperation of the Hong Kong and Macau Affairs Office, He Qinghua from the Bureau of Disease Prevention and Control under the Ministry of Health and Dong Xiaoping from the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
Accompanied by Health Secretary Sophia Chan and Dr Chuang Shuk-kwan from the Centre for Health Protection, the experts visited the restricted area of the airport and were briefed about the segregation of arrivals from overseas and the mainland.
They also inspected the collection of specimens from travellers for Covid tests.
Earlier in the day, National People's Congress Standing Committee member Tam Yiu-chung said he believes that if the SAR government takes up any suggestions the experts make, quarantine-free travel to the mainland will soon be permitted.
