About 20 passengers on had to be evacuated after the light rail train they were travelling in derailed on Saturday evening.

The MTR said that at about 8.25pm, a one-carriage light rail train numbered 610 heading to Yuen Long was about to pull in at platform one of Siu Hong Station when a wheel at the rear of the car came off the track.

There were about 20 people inside the carriage at the time and no one was injured.

Three light rail services – 614, 614P and 615P – have been diverted and will not stop at Pui To, Fung Tei, Siu Hung and Kei Lun stations; and a free MTR shuttle bus service is running between Tuen Mun and Siu Hong in the mean time.
