The first Legislative Council elections following Beijing’s revamp of Hong Kong’s electoral system take place on December 19.

Following the polls, the SAR will have a new legislature consisting of 90 lawmakers – 20 of them elected by the people who live in the 10 geographical constituencies.

Most of the geographical constituency candidates have been speaking to RTHK about why they’re running, and what they hope to accomplish if they are elected.

In the first of a series of video features, we hear from the candidates running in the Hong Kong Island East constituency.
