The Transport Department on Wednesday advised motorists to allow for more travelling time, as many school children officially returned to classrooms after a longer-than-usual summer break due to the pandemic.

Many schools have been providing online lessons since the start of the month, but now students in certain year-groups have returned for face-to-face classes.

Parents and students that RTHK spoke to in Tseung Kwan O said they were nervous and excited to return.

One mother said despite her fears of another Covid-19 community outbreak, she thought it was a reasonable decision to allow students to go back to school.
