Sau Wah House has been locked down for Covid testing.

A Kwun Tong public housing block was locked down on Friday for its residents to be tested for Covid, after sewage samples there were found to contain the virus.

Health officials moved into Sau Wah House at Sau Mau Ping Estate at 4:30pm.

They said they expect to wrap up the testing operation at around 1pm on Saturday.

“Given the risk of infection in the relevant area is assessed to be likely higher, the government decided to make a 'restriction-testing declaration' for the relevant area,” a spokesperson said in a statement.

Anyone who has spent more than two hours in the building since February 12 must also get tested by Sunday.
