KMB said on Friday that it will sack two workers who allegedly drove a bus away on Thursday night without permission.

The company said it called police after finding out at 2am that a double-decker was missing from a Sha Tin bus terminus, and the computer system showed the vehicle was on the move.

Police intercepted the bus near Chinese University.

Two men, aged 19 and 20, were arrested on suspicion of taking the vehicle without authority, driving without a licence, and other offences.

KMB said the bus was taken back to a depot, and preliminary investigations showed its electric circuits had been tampered with to activate the vehicle, and its speed limiter had been removed.
