The Education Secretary, Kevin Yeung, on Sunday urged pupils returning to school this week to take responsibility for their health.

Speaking on RTHK's Letter to Hong Kong programme, Yeung noted that schools would resume on Wednesday for senior secondary pupils, and advised pupils to check temperatures daily and go to the doctors if they felt unwell.

"While I can understand that you are all eager to see your fellow classmates and teachers again, I appeal to you to play your part as a good citizen in guarding against the return of Covid-19 to the community," Yeung said.

"Check your body temperature daily. And if you are not feeling well or have any symptoms, seek medical consultation immediately. This is an important step to protect yourself and care for others."

Yeung also called on them to thank those who've made the reopening possible.

Secondary Three to Secondary Five students return to school on Wednesday, Primary Four to Secondary Two will return on June 8, and Kindergarten Three to Primary Three school classes will resume on June 15.

However, international schools are allowed to tailor their class resumption timetable as long as the necessary preventive measures are met.
