Pro-government lawmaker Junius Ho, who has been mired in controversy over his alleged support to a group of armed people who attacked MTR passengers in Yuen Long, on Tuesday stormed out of a television debate after arguing with a pro-democracy legislator.
Ho and Chu Hoi-dick were attending a RTHK TV programme on Tuesday morning to discuss Sunday night's violence in Yuen Long when the dramatic scenes unfolded.
This came after Ho requested Chu ask anti-extradition bill protesters to "stop all violence", including any illegal demonstrations or their campaign to "reclaim" different districts.
Chu answered if the demands of the anti-extradition bill protesters – including a complete withdrawal of the bill, the launching of an investigation into alleged police brutality and the dropping of charges against arrested protesters – are not accepted by the government, people won't be able to stay calm.
This answer enraged Ho, who pounded the table angrily and blamed Chu of bringing violence into the Legislative Council and the community.
Ho then stood up, took off his microphone and stormed off the set despite attempts by the talk host to calm him down.
Outside the studio, Ho was also confronted by some protesters who shouted at him to "go to the Greater Bay Area". Others mocked him, saying whether he wants to shake hands like he did with his white t-shirt friends.
