In Tseung Kwan O, A Sea Of Flowers And Some Tears

Mourners continued to flood into to the car park in Tseung Kwan O where university student Chow Tsz-lok fell on early Monday night and died four day later.

The area where the 22-year-old was found lying in a pool of blood has turned into a sea of white flowers. Hundreds of messages have been stuck on the walls nearby. Colourful origami hang alongside.

More people were writing messages and folding paper cranes to show their sympathy, sorrow and anger.

Several people lit candles in memory of the Hong Kong University of Science and technology student who died on Friday, becoming the first fatality that is directly linked to police actions.

One person who was there to pay homage said she had just arrived in Hong Kong from Australia and rushed straight to the car park.

The woman in her 20s, who gave her name as Erin, said she wanted to see where everything happened as it was close to where she lives.

"I am really sorry for loss, for his family. I have no words to say," she said, her voice breaking with emotion. "Everything is just too... beyond words," she said.

"I really hope he will rest in peace and his family will ...," she said, her voice trailing off as she struggled for words again.

"I don't think they can recover from this, but to live for him. And hopefully Hong Kong will be better in future, one they want to see."

One mourner, named Janet, said she had come from Taikoo to pay her tributes.

She said she had prepared flowers and origami and was planning to join the vigil at Tamar, but changed her mind as she wanted to see for herself the car park to know if Chow's death was an accident.
