Police said on Friday that they have charged an Immigration Department employee with alleged involvement in hundreds of doxxing cases against officers and others.
The 25-year-old clerical assistant is accused of misconduct in public office and access to a computer with dishonest intent.
She will appear in the Eastern Court on Saturday.
Detective Superintendent Wilson Tam said the suspect allegedly obtained the information from the Immigration Department's system and passed it on to people running social media channels.
Tam said that since the anti-government movement started in June last year, the personal information of around 3,800 people, including police officers, have been shared online.
