The ICAC is investigating dozens of election-related complaints, with just over three weeks to go before the District Council polls are due to be held.
ICAC Commissioner Simon Peh said the anti-graft body has received 28 complaints about the alleged use of force or duress against candidates; 18 on false or misleading statements about those running in the polls; and 17 over claims that electors have been bribed.
Peh said his team will do all it can to ensure the polls are held in a clean and fair manner, despite unprecedented challenges brought by the ongoing protests.
He said officers are keeping in close touch with the relevant government departments, election authorities and the police to make sure things go smoothly.
