Hundreds of people formed a human chain in Tseung Kwan O on Friday night, saying they still believe the death of a 15-year-old student in the area is suspicious.

Hong Kong Design Institute student Chan Yin-lam was last seen on the school’s campus in Tiu Keng Leng on September 19. Her body was found in the sea off Tseung Kwan O three days later.

Police have classified the case as suicide, and her mother has appealed to for people to stop speculating over her death.

But some residents in the district continue to believe her death was suspicious.

On Friday, they started forming a human chain outside the Design Institute before marching to a waterfront where police say she committed suicide.
