The health secretary, Sophia Chan, says hospitals in the New Territories are taking special measures in case of any clashes during the march planned for Yuen Long.
Thousands of people are expected to turn out for the illegal rally in protest at last Sunday's violence at Yuen Long MTR Station.
Chan said: "The Pok Oi Hospital and also the Tuen Mun Hospital have taken into consideration the possible number of casualties and so therefore they have tried to increase the number of healthcare professionals as well as the bed allocation so that in case there are casualties they will be able to manage.
"Also the Hospital Authority head office has also initiated their centre in terms of looking at these mass-gathering situations and continuous monitoring is in progress."
Meanwhile Chan said she respected workers' views after hundreds of medical staff and gathered at the Chinese University on Friday to protest against what they said was the government's failure to respond to people's demands over the extradition saga.
