The measles outbreak shows no signs of abating with four new cases reported on Tuesday, one of them at Princess Margaret Hospital. The Hospital Authority said a 23-year-old radiographer had gone down with the disease, taking the current number of cases to 40.

The man developed a fever and a rash on Monday. He hadn't travelled anywhere and he hadn't been to the airport, where the outbreak is centred. He also has health records showing he'd received two doses of the measles vaccine.

The authority said he hadn't worked in any high risk wards while infectious.

Earlier, the Centre for Health Protection said three more airport workers had also contracted the disease. One of them, a 23-year-old male, had received the vaccine. He began to show symptoms last Wednesday and was admitted to hospital.

The two other cases - both males in their twenties - said they had been vaccinated. The centre says members of their families so far haven't developed any symptoms - but they have been put under medical surveillance as a precaution.

All four are in a stable condition.
