  • Hong Kong sees 814 new Covid cases

The Centre for Health Protection (CHP) on Sunday reported 814 new Covid cases as it warned that the daily figure may rise further.

Laboratory tests have identified 364 of these new infections, while the remaining 450 were from rapid tests that were confirmed by the authorities.

The daily figure was down from the 850 reported on Saturday.

But Chuang Shuk-kwan from CHP said the number of new infections may rise further.

"We won't rule out the chance that the figures could go up further, especially when you see the new cases weren't outbreaks concentrated in specific areas but territory-wide," she explained.

Sunday's Covid total also included 106 imported cases.
