Gloria Lai talks to RTHK's Richard Pyne
Hong Kong’s consumption habits are getting worse, a green group warned on Thursday.
If the rest of the world adopted the lifestyle of Hongkongers, we would need 4.2 Earths to sustain us, said WWF-Hong Kong.
In 2016, the figure was 3.9 Earths. But this has gone up as consumption continued to rise.
The group said Hong Kong needs to rein in consumption, as the city is producing waste at an unsustainable pace.
Gloria Lai, WWF's Ecological Footprint Specialist, told RTHK's Richard Pyne that people can do their part by eating less meat and buying less clothes.
