Hong Kong recorded no new local Covid-19 cases on Sunday, with only one imported case from Russia.

This marks the 13th day in a row since the city last reported any local infections.

The imported case is a 36-year-old flight crew who arrived from Russia on Saturday.

Authorities said he did not have any symptoms and was found to be carrying the L452R mutated strain of the coronavirus associated with a viral variant that has recently caused massive outbreaks in California.

There are less than five preliminary positive cases.

Hong Kong has recorded 11,886 Covid-19 infections so far, with 210 deaths.
