Health authorities have reported six new Covid-19 infections on Sunday, with a man with no recent travel history also testing positive for the coronavirus.

The 42-year-old lives in Beverly Garden in Tseung Kwan O, and last went to work in Sheung Wan on Wednesday, after getting a sore throat the day before.

The rest of the new cases were people arriving from countries like the United States, France, Ireland, Pakistan and the Philippines.

Hong Kong has now recorded a total of 5,295 cases.

Meanwhile the Chief Executive Carrie Lam joined the health authorities in warning the people not let their guard down, despite the apparent stablising situation.

In a document uploaded to her social media account, Lam said "one local case of unknown source is one case too many".

She noted that the increase in cases earlier this month was due to people going out during the long holiday on National Day and mid-autumn festival.

Lam said that is why her administration decided not to relax its social distancing measures and maintained many restrictions.
