  • Hong Kong logs 251 Covid cases

Health officials on Wednesday reported 251 new Covid infections – 28 of which were imported.

The Centre for Health Protection's Albert Au said another pupil at a kindergarten in Kowloon Tong has come down with the virus.

Au said the pupil was in a different class than the previous six cases, but they may have used the same facilities in St Catherine's International Kindergarten.

Meanwhile, the cluster of infections linked to a McDonald's restaurant in Taikoo Shing has grown to nine people – one more than yesterday.

The latest patient is a 66-year-old woman who has received two doses of a Covid vaccine.

Meanwhile, there were two more Covid-related deaths. Both of the deceased men, aged 90 and 78, had underlying illnesses such as heart failure or high blood pressure.
