About 50 people from various civic groups staged a protest outside the Israeli consulate in Hong Kong on Thursday over the killing of dozens of Palestinians in Gaza.
More than 60 Palestinians were killed on Monday, mainly from Israeli sniper fire, as tens of thousands rallied against the transfer of the US embassy to Jerusalem.
Au Lap-hang, the organiser of the protest, said the killing is a global humanitarian issue that everybody should care about.
He said the SAR could play a key role in putting pressure on Israel over the violence. "Hong Kong is one of the biggest trading partners with Israel. So if Hong Kong people want, they have a lot of ways to influence [the Israelis]," Au said.
The protesters marched from the Israeli consulate to the US consulate in Central to express their anger.
