Health authorities on Saturday confirmed nine new imported coronavirus cases, with all but one of the patients found to be carrying the L452R mutant strain.

The patients had arrived from the UK, Indonesia, Singapore, Kazakhstan, Nepal, Pakistan and Serbia.

Eight of them had received two doses of a Covid-19 vaccine.

Meanwhile, the Centre for Health Protection has issued a compulsory testing order for a block in Grand Garden, Repulse Bay, after a resident there tested positive for the coronavirus in the UK.

The 14-year-old girl tested negative before her flight to London earlier this month. But her specimen collected in the UK was positive.

Officials also said there were fewer than 10 preliminary positive cases.
