Police said on Thursday that they have laid a holding charge of one count of murder against a 46-year-old man in connection with the death of his 34-year-old girlfriend in Tseung Kwan O.

The man was arrested after police found the woman's body in a compartment on the lower level of a bunk bed in his apartment in Po Kim House in Po Lam Estate early on Wednesday.

They said the woman's body was bruised and she's believed to have been dead for several days.

They said the case will be mentioned at Kwun Tong Magistrates' Courts on Friday.
