Pro-Beijing lawmaker Holden Chow says he hopes US president-elect, Joe Biden, will adopt - what he called - a more rational approach towards US-China relations, when he takes office.

Speaking on RTHK's Letter to Hong Kong, the DAB legislator accused Donald Trump of drumming up anti-China sentiment.

He said Trump had blamed China for the pandemic, damaged Chinese businesses, and railed against the Hong Kong national security law, adding that it was time to put an end to such hostility.

"Indeed, if we take an objective view on China, remove the prejudice, the advancement in China’s technology and business operations would benefit the rest of the world," Chow said, adding that China had shared its success in controlling the pandemic with the rest of the world.

He said other economies could also benefit from China rebooting the economy by reviving demand for import goods.

Chow said it made no sense to purge Chinese businesses and to ban business joint-ventures when everyone wanted to restart their economies.

Chow also said it made perfect sense for the National People's Congress Standing Committee to disqualify four pan-democratic lawmakers, saying Dennis Kwok, Kwok Ka-ki, Alvin Yeung and Kenneth Leung had colluded with foreign politicians and harmed the national interest.
