The Chief Secretary, Matthew Cheung, said on Sunday that the government is working round the clock to install more quarantine facilities as it battles the coronavirus outbreak.
Writing on his blog, Cheung said the government has been working to turn the third and fourth blocks of the Chun Yeung Estate in Fo Tan into quarantine facilities, to provide about an extra 1,660 quarantine places.
He also said the administration is also building more quarantine units at Lei Yue Mun Park, the Sai Kung Outdoor Recreation Centre, the Junior Police Call Permanent Activity Centre in Pat Heung and a government plot in Penny's Bay.
He said these would provide at least 1,000 more units between April and July.
