HK's Scorching September Was The Hottest On Record

The Hong Kong Observatory says the SAR has just experienced its hottest September on record, with a mean temperature of 29.7 degrees Celsius.
For half the month, the maximum daily temperature topped 33 degrees, with the highest reading of 34.5 degrees recorded on September 12.
The observatory said the hot weather was mainly because the subtropical ridge of high pressure over southern China was stronger than usual.
