Health authorities reported six new imported Covid-19 cases on Saturday, five of which involved the L452R mutant strain, with test results still pending for the other patient.
The patients, who are all fully-vaccinated, include a foreign domestic helper serving quarantine at Penny's Bay and people who were staying in quarantine hotels after visiting the UK, France and Italy.
The two other patients, who had been to Mongolia, Korea and Ukraine, are close contacts of previous imported cases.
They tested positive at Penny's Bay and at a public hospital.
There are fewer than 10 preliminary positive cases.
Hong Kong has recorded 12,319 Covid-19 infections since the pandemic began.
