The Centre for Health Protection on Saturday reported five imported Covid-19 infections, with all of them carrying Covid mutations.

The patients arrived from India, the Philippines, Germany and France.

All of them had been vaccinated against the coronavirus earlier and were asymptomatic.

Three of them, who tested positive after landing at the airport, carried either the N501Y mutant gene or the L452R mutant strain.

The other two patients were confirmed with the virus during their quarantine. They were quarantined at two hotels in Sai Ying Pun - Ramada Hong Kong Harbour View and Best Western Plus Hotel.

Both of them tested positive for the L452R mutant strain.
