Hong Kong has reportedly recorded its biggest daily increase in the number of Covid-19 cases for over two months on Sunday, with around 30 more people testing positive for coronavirus.
It’s believed all the new cases were imported from elsewhere. Sources told RTHK most of them came from Pakistan and India.
If confirmed, this would be the highest single-day tally for new Covid-19 cases since April 3, when the Centre for Health Protection confirmed 43 infections.
For now, the official Covid-19 tally stands at 1,131, with five fatalities.
The government has been progressively scaling back its epidemic control measures, with a ban on public gatherings eased from eight to 50 people on Friday.
