Hiring Me Could Save RTHK Millions, Says Junius Ho

Pro-government lawmaker Junius Ho said on Thursday that RTHK could probably save a lot of money if they hired him, as his videos get millions of hits and cost a lot less to make than the public broadcaster's.
The outspoken lawmaker made this remark as he took part in a budget debate in Legco.
Ho said his online videos are able to get significant hit rates with just a fraction of the money the broadcaster is spending.
“RTHK said that they have a hit rate of 20 million, and me, Junius Ho, I have 3 million,” the outspoken lawmaker said, referring to RTHK's "Headliner" show.
“I just spend HK$10,000 on it and how come RTHK needs to spend HK$580 million. Why don’t they recruit me to save the budget, right?” he asked.
Pro-establishment legislators criticised the HK$1.04 billion funding being allocated to RTHK during the budget debate.
The broadcaster has been criticised by the pro-establishment side, government officials and the police department over its shows, with accusations of bias and that the RTHK charter is being breached.
RTHK has denied such charges and has said it has always stuck by its charter and carried out its duties in an unbiased and professional manner.
