Authorities on Tuesday found the body of a man, who's believed to have been washed away by floods while hiking in Ma On Shan earlier in the day. At the time, the Strong Wind Signal No. 3 was in force.

Police received a report at 10:46 am that a 60-year-old man had been washed away by flash floods near the Hero Waterfall, along Ma Dai Stream.

He was said to have been hiking with three others.

After a search of about six hours, with the help of the Government Flying Service, rescuers found a body near Tai Shui Hang.

Police said the man was certified dead at the scene and an autopsy would be carried out to determine the cause of death.
