Rural leader Kenneth Lau has drawn a modest lucky stick for Hong Kong this year.
The leader of the Heung Yee Kuk, which represents indigenous villagers, goes to the Che Kung Temple on the second day of every Lunar New Year to seek a blessing for Hong Kong as part of a tradition.
This year Lau drew a lucky stick number 21.
He said the stick says as long as Hong Kong is united, and goes the extra mile, Hong Kong will become better tomorrow.
In 2003, former Home Affairs Secretary Patrick Ho drew an unlucky fortune stick for Hong Kong. Since then the Heung Yee Kuk chairman has taken over the role.
