The Centre for Health Protection on Tuesday reported 18 new coronavirus infections, 13 of which were locally acquired.

More than half of the local cases were found in Mid-Levels and in Western, where a gym was hit by a coronavirus outbreak recently.

Some of the patients linked to previously confirmed cases live in Serene Court in Kennedy Town, Hing Wah Mansion and Manifold Court in Sai Ying Pun, as well as a building on Bonham Road named Lim Kai Bit Yip.

There were four linked cases at the police living quarters in Ho Man Tin.

One of the unlinked cases involved a 38-year-old IT engineer who works at HSBC's headquarters in Central.

He developed a runny nose on March 10 and last went to work on March 15.

There were five new imported cases, involving people flying in from Turkey, Pakistan, Ukraine and the Philippines.
