  • Govt to seek another round of anti-epidemic funds

Chief Executive Carrie Lam has announced that the government will ask the Legislative Council to approve another round of anti-epidemic relief funds before Christmas.

But she did not say how much money it will involve.

Speaking on Tuesday ahead of the weekly Executive Council meeting, Lam said the fourth round of relief measures will target firms hardest hit by social distancing rules, such as those ordered to close and restaurants that cannot provide evening dine-in services.

Lam said more details will be made available before Christmas as the government submits the relevant documents to Legco.

She also said Finance Committee's chairman Chan Kin-por has agreed to hold a special meeting to deal with the funding request once the government is ready.
