Demosisto member and ousted lawmaker Nathan Law on Sunday called on people to keep an eye on their friends - if they're depressed over the extradition bill saga.
He was commenting after a 21-year-old Education University student fell to her death from a public housing estate in Fanling.
The victim had reportedly written anti-extradition slogans on a wall in the estate before falling to her death.
"We don't want to see anyone sacrifice their life because they wanted to express their opinion or express their grievances," Law said.
"So I think each of us ...have to be very alert when others show such emotional reactions."
However, Law said the ultimate responsibility lay with the government, because they were the only ones who could respond to the people's demands.
