The work-from-home arrangements for government employees has been extended to December 23.

The government announced the decision on Friday, saying the local epidemic situation remains severe.

Officials said measures to significantly reduce the flow of people and social contacts are necessary to prevent the spread of Covid-19 in the community.

Those offering emergency and essential public services will be exempt.

The private sector is also urged to allow its staff to work from home as much as possible to help contain the outbreak.
