The government has approved the applications of several bus companies to reduce their service frequencies amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
In a statement, the Transport Department said passenger demand for bus services had declined significantly after the government stepped up its anti-epidemic measures. Therefore, it has allowed the city's three main bus companies - KMB, Citybus and New World First Bus - to reduce the frequencies of more than 280 of their routes from next Monday until August 2.
The department said the gaps between services will be no more than 10 minutes longer than usual.
