The Family Planning Association of Hong Kong published a new series of book on sex education for children aged three to six, which is the first Chinese-English bilingual edition in more than two decades.

The 17th edition places more of an emphasis on how precious one's body is, hence private parts must be protected.

It also diminishes gender stereotypes in family roles and occupations.

The association's education officer Chau Wai-wai said the addition of "parents' tips" can help parents deal with the embarrassment of questions from curious children regarding sex.

Chau said that some parents might find it difficult to say words like "penis" or "vagina" in front of their children, adding that it is important to let children know the proper names.
