The government announced on Monday that a former Permanent Secretary of the Chief Executive's Office, Jessie Ting, will spearhead a team that is to review the governance and management of RTHK.
Ting, who also once served as the Postmaster General, is currently a senior official at the development bureau.
A press note issued by the government said the panel will start its work next Wednesday.
Other members include the Assistant Director of Broadcasting, Albert Cheung, as well as serving and retired government staff. But no more details were available.
In the statement, the government said the team will look into the public broadcaster's everyday management and operation to ensure that its services comply with the RTHK Charter.
However, it stressed the team will not take part in programme production or make editorial decisions.
A report is expected to be completed in around six months.
The government called for a full review of RTHK after two of its programmes – including the now-suspended TV satire Headliner – received warnings by the Communications Authority over how they addressed the police's handling of pro-democracy protests.
The programmes were said to be biased and had incited hatred against the force.
The public broadcaster said it will fully cooperate with the team and and provide necessary assistance.
