The Hong Kong Observatory has issued localised heavy rainfall notices for Sai Kung and Hong Kong Island's Eastern District after downpours in the early hours of Monday.
The Observatory said at 3.20am that it had recorded more than 70 millimetres of rainfall in the two districts in the previous hour. It urged residents to take precautions against the risk of flooding and warned that heavy rain could cause flash floods.
The Amber Rainfall Warning was in effect for the whole of the SAR.
