A 23-year-old man has been denied bail after appearing in Tuen Mun court following his arrest for alleged weapons possession.
The Polytechnic University student has been charged with possession of arms without a licence and import of strategic commodities without permission.
He is due in court again in November.
The young man was arrested with his mother at their Fanling home on Thursday. The mother was not charged and released on police bail.
The police have said the pair were linked to the discovery of a pepper ball gun, a bullet proof vest and other suspected weapons.
The force also said it's looking into whether the mother and son violated the national security law.
