Pizza Hut have announced they will shut a branch in the New Territories temporarily after one of its employees tested positive for Covid-19.
The restaurant chain said in a Facebook statement that it was informed on Tuesday evening about the employee in question who works at their Luen Wo Market branch in Fanling.
The pizza chain said the female employee worked mainly evening shifts, and two of her colleagues have been quarantined for 14 days.
It said the Luen Wo Market branch was shut on Wednesday and will be closed until Monday to be disinfected. All unsealed ingredients have also been disposed of.
All other Pizza Hut branches in Hong Kong will remain open. The company said all employees will wear masks, wash their hands every hour, and undergo temperature checks before they start work.
On Wednesday, supermaket chain Marks & Spencer said it will undertake deep-cleaning work in all its stores, after some of its staff came down with the virus in recent days.
Meanwhile Café de Coral announced that some of the group’s restaurants which had previously suspended evening dine-in services, will resume them from Friday.
It said seats will be spaced out, the temperature of all customers checked, and hand sanitisers will be provided.
