  • Fanling jewellery shop targeted in smash-and-grab

It took all but a minute for two men to pull off a daring smash-and-grab robbery in broad daylight.

Police said they came away with numerous gold ornaments from a jewellery shop in Fanling on Tuesday morning.

CCTV footage shows the pair, armed with a sledgehammer and a chopper, entered the shop on Wo Fung Street and smashed the glass on a display case.

Reports said the shop was not yet open for business at the time.

Police said they made off in a private car.

A sledgehammer was found at the scene.

No one has been arrested so far and the shop was still tallying its losses.
