A former Hong Kong Telecom worker has been found guilty of doxxing a police officer during last year's anti-government protests.

Chan King-hei was convicted on three counts of dishonest use of computer, and one count of disclosing others’ data without consent.

District Court judge Frankie Yiu said the case was serious, and a jail sentence had to be considered.

The case has been adjourned until early November for sentencing, and the 32-year-old has been remanded in custody.

Chan's convicted of using his company’s computer from July to September last year to obtain a customer's information, and made them public on social media during the protests.

The information in question included the officer's phone number and Hong Kong ID card number.
