The European Parliament is to debate Hong Kong affairs on Thursday after MEPs submitted resolutions on the SAR's future, calling on the EU and its member states to "work toward" imposing export controls on goods use to violate human rights.
The resolutions, to be debated at the Parliament's plenary session in Strasbourg, includes calls for the full withdrawal of the government's attempt to amend the extradition laws, as well as a reminder to the SAR to fulfill its international obligations.
They also include calls for an amnesty for peaceful protesters involved in recent demonstrations.
The resolutions come from various different political groups and have the support of lawmakers from across the continent.
