A Yuen Long man who works in the field of engineering is the latest Covid-19 patient in Hong Kong with an unknown source.
Health authorities said on Tuesday the 29-year-old works for a company in Lai Chi Kok and visits construction sites several times a week.
The man began showing symptoms last Thursday and last went to work on Monday.
His family members, friends who shared meals with him, as well as about a dozen of his colleagues will undergo coronavirus testing.
Health authorities also reported fewer than 10 preliminary positive cases, including a taxi driver.
Dr Chuang Shuk-kwan from the Centre voiced concerns about the emergence of a fourth wave of cases.
"We observe a slight increase in the number of unknown cases, local cases in the past one or two weeks. We are still observing, but we fear that the fourth wave is impending, is coming, but we're trying to do all we can to try to prevent and stop it from increasing and really becoming a fourth wave," Chuang said.
Three imported cases involving arrivals from Britain, Germany and Turkey were also reported on Tuesday.
