Health authorities confirmed eight more cases of Covid-19 on Wednesday – all imported – taking the total number of cases here to 1,120.
The Centre for Health Protection (CHP) said the newly confirmed cases involve two males and six females aged between 4 and 70.
All had returned to Hong Kong on Tuesday from either Pakistan or the Philippines, but none of them were suffering from any symptoms, except for a seven-year-old boy who previously had a fever and a runny nose before recovering.
Officials say they are working to track down all their contacts.
