The Chinese University of Hong Kong said on Sunday eight students have contracted Covid-19.

Two were confirmed cases while the rest were preliminary infections.

The university said it'd moved the students confirmed with the virus to separate rooms with individual bathrooms and toilets, as they wait for further instructions from health authorities.

It also noted that all students staying on the same wing of the dormitory as the confirmed cases took rapid antigen tests on Saturday evening.

Places visited by the patients concerned, including their dorm rooms, toilets and communal areas, have been disinfected as well.
