East Rail Services At Hung Hom Still Suspended

The MTR on Wednesday said that East Rail services between Hung Hom and Mong Kok East remain suspended following the derailment on Tuesday morning of three carriages on a train approaching Hung Hom.
It said trains between Mong Kok East and Lo Wu were running at three-and-a-half-minute intervals, and those running between Tai Po Market and Lok Ma Chau at twelve-minutes.
Overnight, workers used lifting equipment to put the carriages back on the tracks.
Repairs are now taking place on the rails and the MTR hopes to resume East Rail services between Hung Hong and Mong Kok East on Wednesday.
Eight people were hurt in the accident, which occurred during Tuesday's rush hour.
The MTR has said there were at least three small cracks on the track. But it said it remains to be seen whether they had been there prior to the derailment, or whether they had been caused by the incident.
